At Capitol Federal®, we are about to celebrate a big milestone. On September 16, the Bank will celebrate its 125th birthday. Known as the quasquicentennial, this meaningful birthday allows us to reflect on the past and focus on the future. 

Milestones mark important achievements and are important moments in our lives. Milestones bring friends and family together and are significant events meant to be remembered for years to come. We are proud to share this milestone with our loyal customers.

CapFed® has come a long way from our humble beginnings in 1893, when 15 men gathered for the first time to form a savings and loan association in Topeka. Today, Capitol Federal serves customers from 48 locations across Kansas and the KC Metro. Throughout our history, Capitol Federal has maintained its belief in strength, security, safety and homeownership. These principles have guided us for more than 120 years and will continue to lead us into the future.
