20 Years of Giving Back: Capitol Federal® Provides Thanksgiving Meals to Local Kansas City Families
November 24, 2020

TOPEKA, Kan. – In the spirit of the giving season, Capitol Federal® embraced their local community by supplying traditional Thanksgiving meals to more than 200 families across Kansas. In the Kansas City area, a total of 45 meals were delivered to area organizations by CapFed® employee volunteers and Capitol Agency® Insurance employee volunteers.

Capitol Federal Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus said, “I’m proud that this is our 20th year of donating meals to our communities, and I sincerely thank our True Blue® employees for volunteering to deliver a traditional holiday meal to our community members in need this year. Thanksgiving is a special holiday that has deep traditional roots, and while it may look a little different this year, Thanksgiving still represents giving back and giving thanks.”

The meals were purchased from the Price Chopper located at 830 E Main Street in Gardner. Turkey, potatoes, vegetables, stuffing and dessert were included in every feast. The meals were delivered to KC households through a partnership with El Centro, Mattie Rhodes and Kids TLC through a grant given by the Capitol Federal Foundation®.
