20 Years of Giving Back: Capitol Federal® Provides Thanksgiving Meals to Local Emporia Families

TOPEKA, Kan. – In the spirit of the giving season, Capitol Federal® embraced their local community by supplying traditional Thanksgiving meals to more than 200 families across Kansas. In Emporia, a total of 13 meals were delivered to area families.
Capitol Federal Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus said, “I’m proud that this is our 20th year of donating meals to our communities. Thanksgiving is a special holiday that has deep traditional roots, and while it may look a little different this year, Thanksgiving still represents giving back and giving thanks.”
The meals were purchased from the Dillons located at 902 E 12th Avenue. Turkey, potatoes, vegetables, stuffing and dessert were included in every feast. The meals were delivered to Emporia households through a partnership with SOS Inc. and a grant given by the Capitol Federal Foundation®.
