Capitol Federal® Celebrate 127 Years Strong: Gives 127 Gift Cards Valued at $127 Each to Ronald McDonald House

TOPEKA, KS – On September 16, Capitol Federal® celebrated its 127th birthday by hosting 127 Customer giveaways, 127 Employee giveaways and 127 giveaways to a Community Non-Profit.
Customers and employees nominated their favorite non-profit organizations and one was chosen to receive 127 gift cards, valued at $127 each – totaling $16,129. The winning non-profit was Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas. A surprise presentation was held on September 22nd at the Ronald McDonald House in Topeka with CapFed® employees and Ronald McDonald House staff and board members in attendance.
Capitol Federal Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus said, “We celebrate and share this birthday with our True Blue® customers, employees and communities. More than 3,000 non-profits were nominated to receive this birthday gift. We’re pleased to present Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas with this gift, and we know they’ll use the money to further their mission of caring for sick children and their families during a time of need. Mindee Reece, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Kansas echoed CEO Dicus’ comments. “We are very excited to be the winning non-profit in the Capitol Federal 127 Years Strong Birthday Sweepstakes,” said Reece. “These funds could not come at a better time and will be used to replenish our supply of cleaning and disinfecting supplies, PPE and other essential items to keep the Ronald McDonald House safe and our guest families healthy over the coming months.”
