Please be aware of scammers spoofing our phone number and impersonating Capitol Federal® employees. According to multiple reports, customers are receiving texts claiming to be an alert from Capitol Federal asking them to verify transactions. Then, once the customer replies that they don't recognize the charge, they receive a call from 888-822-7333 acting as Capitol Federal employees to get more information. Also, there have been reports of the fraudsters requesting Zelle® transactions as part of this scheme. These requests are scams, as well. If you do not recognize the number or request, do not respond. Below are examples of what these scam texts can look like. Make sure to never give your personal or bank information out in response to a request you didn't expect and always be alert. As a reminder, Capitol Federal® will never request your account number or debit card number to verify your identity. Requests of these types are a scam.
