Impersonation Scams - March 2026

Please be aware of scammers spoofing our phone number and impersonating Capitol Federal® employees. There have been reports of scammers sending texts to customers claiming to be alerts coming from Capitol Federal® asking for a signature to update credentials which leads to a phone call where they get the account information. These scammers go through the customer's phone carrier to have the customer's phone number forwarded to theirs, so when the scammer goes to cash a check using the stolen account information they can verify the transaction. Check your account balances regularly and if anything seems out of the ordinary, call our offices directly or visit a branch to report it.

Capitol Federal® will never call, text, or email you to ask for your username, password, debit card numbers, PIN, or security codes.  We have other means of confirming your identity.  If you receive a call or text that you are concerned about, hang up and call our offices directly or visit a branch.

If you feel you have provided information to someone in error or as part of any scam, please call 1-888-822-7333 to report the incident.
