Today’s fraudster will do just about anything to get your information. Regularly, the scammers will pretend to be trusted friends and family, government agency representatives, or even Capitol Federal® employees. While the impersonation scams can take many forms, they all rely on the same tactics; create fear or trust and apply pressure to take immediate actions.
Please be aware of scammers spoofing our phone number and impersonating Capitol Federal® employees. According to multiple reports, the scammers are calling customers asking for their username and password for online banking. Make sure to never give your personal or bank information out in response to a request you didn't expect and always be alert.
Capitol Federal® will never call, text, or email you to ask for your username, password, debit card numbers, PIN, or security codes. We have other means of confirming your identity. If you receive a call that you are concerned about, hang up and call our offices directly or visit a branch.
If you feel you have provided information to someone in error or as part of any scam, please call 1-888-822-7333 to report the incident.
