Capitol Federal® Presents Henry A. Bubb Distinguished Service Award

TOPEKA, KS – Capitol Federal® Chief Executive Officer John B. Dicus announced that Software Developer III Michael Peoples is the 2025 recipient of the Henry A. Bubb Distinguished Service Award, the Bank’s highest employee recognition. This award, named in honor of Capitol Federal’s longtime Chairman, is presented annually to an employee or officer who demonstrates the leadership qualities of the late Mr. Bubb.
Michael holds a key role in Capitol Federal’s Information Technology department, where he develops innovative solutions that strengthen operations, enhance the customer experience, and provide essential support to teams across the Bank. Known for his ability to translate complex business needs into technology-driven solutions, Michael consistently delivers results that create lasting value for customers and internal teams. 

Over the past year, Michael has been directly involved in several high-impact projects in the IT department. While it is common for the Bank to rely on external vendors for development on large-scale initiatives, Michael proved his ability to design and deliver solutions internally on multiple occasions. Michael’s efforts to create innovative and effective solutions in-house has saved Capitol Federal countless hours and costs over the past year.

His leadership reflects the distinguished service and integrity exemplified by Henry A. Bubb, and it is an honor to present Michael with this well‑deserved recognition.”

Michael began his career at Capitol Federal as a teller at the South Topeka branch. While pursuing a Computer Science degree at Fort Hays State University, Michael continued to work his way up the Bank’s customer service career path. In 2018, he joined the Software Development team and now serves in his current role as Software Developer III.
