March 18, 1974: CapFed's West Lawrence branch opened at Iowa and Harvard, making it the 12th location in the Capitol Federal® branch network. It's the second branch in Lawrence. In 1979, all Lawrence loan origination and processing became centralized at West Lawrence. In 1986, a separate loan office was created in leased space just west of the branch, for processing of all Lawrence loan origination, closing and servicing assistance.
