CapFed's fifth Johnson County office opened on December 7, 1972. Titled the "Western" branch, because a teller thought it was on "the edge of the frontier" and became totally convinced when a customer drove up in a John Deere tractor! The community room of the branch has been used for group meetings, a dance recital, wedding and a picnic that was rained out at a local park.
