Capitol Federal's East Olathe Branch held its grand opening the week of January 18, 1988. It was the second Olathe branch and the eighth in Johnson County. The first branch manager was Dave Viebrock, and until he mastered the new alarm system, assistant branch manager Bob Johansen made sure he had coffee ready for the Olathe police officer assigned to stop by, bright and early, when the alarm sounded.
