Capitol Federal's Home Office was originally located at 6th and Topeka Boulevard before moving to its current location at 700 South Kansas Avenue in December 1961. The new building became known for its striking exterior, featuring blue turquoise tile and white quartz. These design elements became iconic for the Bank. In 2013, a remodel of the Home Office reaffirmed Capitol Federal’s deep roots in downtown Topeka, where it has called "home" since 1893, continuing its longstanding connection to the community.
