True Blue Online Changes & New Features

Capitol Federal is pleased to introduce our latest version of True Blue Online® (TBO) banking.  Included in this new version are a number of changes and new features that should improve your online experience.

Telephone Bill Payment

Since 1978, Capitol Federal has provided an easy and convenient way to schedule bill payments using your telephone.  With the introduction of TBO in 1999, you had a second method to pay your bills.  Unfortunately, these were two distinct systems requiring separate enrollment and management of the payees and payments.

We are proud to announce that these two systems have been combined.  For customers not wanting to go online, True Blue Bill Payment continues to provide the same level of service in setting up payees and payments using your telephone.  When the time comes when you want to begin using TBO, the payees and payments will already be there for you.

For customers who currently bank online and may have given up the convenience of telephone bill payments, we now have the perfect solution.  The same payees and payments you manage using TBO can now be accessed using your telephone.  And in addition, the payments you set up using your telephone can be accessed using TBO.  For more details on True Blue Bill Payment, click HERE.

Website Navigation

There are a number of improvements that help you easily navigate the new site, starting at the login page.  As part of the login screen, you select the page to which you want to navigate.  You can also select that page as your default page for subsequent logins.

Immediately upon login, you are greeted with a listing of any new messages and a record of the last time you were logged in.

Explore the tabs, sub-menus and links provided throughout the new website, designed to be easier to find what you need, when you need it.  Check out the “Make Payment Now” link provided for your loan accounts on the Account Summary page.

You can build a favorites menu that is available on every page to help you quickly access your most used pages.  You may change your favorites at any time using one of the Self Service menus.

There are related links provided on every page that guide you to relevant pages based upon the activity you are performing.  Also provided is a link to “Help with this Page” to give you detailed instructions and information related to the current page.  Review the current or prior session summary using the link provided.

Quicken

The new website continues to feature a direct connection between TBO and Intuit’s Quicken, used to manage your payees and payments, reconcile your accounts and communicate with Capitol Federal.  TBO now includes a download feature that creates a transaction history file that can be imported into spreadsheets.

***Important Note***
Quicken allows you to control how your payee names are displayed in the Quicken Transactions Register by using Payee Renaming Rules.

Renaming rules are guidelines that tell Quicken to always use a standardized payee name (for example, Anytown Coffeehouse) when an equivalent payee is downloaded (for example, Anytown Coffeehouse 005 PLEASANTON 945). You can have Quicken suggest renaming rules for you (easiest method), or you can create and manage them yourself (you can always edit them later, no matter how they were created).

Renaming rules don't change transactions already recorded in your register; they affect only downloaded transactions that you're in the process of reviewing and accepting and transactions that will be downloaded in the future.

Note that renaming rules are available only for online-activated accounts.

  • IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR QUICKEN USERS:
To synchronize your current Quicken account profile with the new website, you must carefully complete the following steps before you update your Quicken accounts:

(You should not be online for these steps.)

    1) Start Quicken

    2) Select accounts

    Method # 1

    3) The “Account Number” field is displayed on the right side of the box.  This is the account format for the previous version of TBO and must be changed to the new format.

    • Add a zero to the front of the account number.
    • Delete the dash and all characters to the right of the dash (including both numeric and alphabetic characters)
    • The resulting account should be a 10 digit number.

    4) Click “OK” in the lower right hand position of the box displayed.

Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the Capitol Federal accounts.

You are now ready to connect to the new TBO website for your Quicken update activity.

Note:  If you use the PIN Vault feature of Quicken, you may need to skip the PIN Vault and enter your TBO password to complete the online update.

You should be able to use your existing User ID and password. However, if your password contains uppercase characters, you will need to enter them as lower case.

    Bill Payment

Bill Payment is now FREE!  Whether you use True Blue Online or telephone bill payment (formerly P.S.* Bill Pay), there are no monthly fees.  For more details on True Blue Bill Payment, click HERE.

Payment setup is now even faster and gives you greater control.  You select which payees to include on your active payee list, making it easy to add multiple payments on a single screen.  You also choose which accounts you wish to make available for bill payment and select the default account for quick payment entry.

You now have a simple method to initiate transfers or payments to other Capitol Federal accounts not included on your profile.  When adding a new payee, just click the “Pay to a Capitol Federal Account” button.  Then you can add a scheduled or recurring payment that will transfer directly to the Capitol Federal account on the date you select.

    Message Alerts

You can set up contact points such as your home and work email addresses, pagers, etc. to notify you whenever you have a secure message in your inbox.  This provides you a timely notice for bill payment status alerts and important messages.
