Daniel L. Lehman
Capitol Federal Presents Henry A. Bubb Distinguished Service Award
April 30, 2010
Capitol Federal's 117th Year of True Blue® Service
Capitol Federal Chairman John B. Dicus announced Daniel L. Lehman, First Vice President, as the 2009 recipient of the Bank's highest recognition, the Henry A. Bubb Distinguished Service Award. This award, named in honor of Capitol Federal's longtime Chairman, is presented annually to one employee or officer who demonstrates the leadership qualities of the late Mr. Bubb.
Lehman began employment with the Bank on May 27, 2003 as the Accounting Director. He oversees the operations in Central Records, ACH/Wire Services and Accounting. Currently, there are 40 individuals who work within these departments and provide support to departments across the bank. Lehman serves on numerous committees across the bank including ITOC and Disclosure. He also Chairs the TIP committee.
Executive Vice President Kent Townsend, Lehman's supervisor, states: "Daniel has provided leadership during the core conversion, in helping to identify efficiencies in operations by questioning traditional assumptions, working with others to implement a project assessment and monitoring methodology to help control costs of projects and working with others in the bank to fully understand all operational areas and how their activities impact the accounting activities of the bank."
An important requirement to earning the prestigious Henry A. Bubb Award is community volunteerism. Lehman has been an active community volunteer, as a board member since 2004, with the Kansas Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, serving as the organization's Treasurer for the past three years. He also served as the Treasurer at Faith Lutheran where he is a member. He has been active as a coach for his daughters' soccer teams during their eight-year careers.
"In presenting this award," Chairman Dicus concluded, "Daniel’s commitment to the Bank and its customers is demonstrated daily, not only by the work and dedication he extends, but also by that of his staff. Their work is a reflection of his leadership, leadership containing the same characteristics put forth by Henry Bubb during his long, distinguished Capitol Federal career. The Capitol Federal board, senior management and all employees congratulate Daniel on a job well done. Henry Bubb would applaud the selection of Daniel Lehman to receive the award named in his honor."
