Capitol Federal opens new office in Kansas City’s Northland

On Tuesday, January 12, at 9:00 a.m., Capitol Federal began the grand opening of its newest True Blue® location at 5821 NW Barry Road in Kansas City, Missouri. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. To commemorate Capitol Federal’s recent move into Missouri with this branch and a location inside the Price Chopper at 500 NE Barry Road, Capitol Federal Foundation presented a special gift of $20,000 to The Northland Community Foundation. The gift will be used for the Harvesters “Back Snack” program – Northland Children’s Hunger Initiative Fund. With this gift, the Northland Community Foundation will match the funds, thus providing $40,000 toward the "Back Snack" campaign. Other grand opening festivities will continue throughout the week, including drawings for prizes and a special gift for opening an account.

The new Embassy Plaza location is the Bank’s 44th branch and its 22nd Greater Kansas City office. It is open Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The new full-service 6,640 sq. foot branch includes the convenience of two drive-up lanes and a 24-hour drive-up ATM. The Embassy Plaza branch also will be the location of Capitol Federal’s Northland loan production office.

Appointed to manage the new office is Vice President-Branch Manager Jeric Toney. A graduate of Kansas State University, Toney joined Capitol Federal in January 2005. He served as a teller and customer service representative prior to being named assistant branch manager for the Overland Park Price Chopper location at 11700 W. 135th and later the 95th and Nall branch. Toney also serves the Northland as branch manager of Capitol Federal's most recent location inside the Price Chopper at 500 NE Barry Road, offering extended office hours of 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and Noon – 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Active in his community, Toney volunteers for the United Way and serves as a member of the Northland Chamber of Commerce.

Toney said, "Capitol Federal is excited to be in Missouri, providing its Northland customers the convenience of two locations and office hours designed to meet their busy schedules. We are happy to offer full service banking needs to our growing customer base in the Northland community. All of us at both offices welcome our customers and potential customers as they stop by to visit and meet our staff. We want to get to know you and extend our warm, True Blue® hospitality and service to all."
