NEWS RELEASE

TOPEKA, Kan. – Employees from Capitol Federal’s seven Topeka offices completed their 2013 Project Topeka campaign.  The Capitol Federal® employee campaign committee, A.J. Heier, Heather Hurla, Calysta MacDonald, Jason Golder, Kristen Roth, Trevin James, Mark Bradburn and Dan McPherron, presented Project Topeka with a Capitol Federal® Foundation check for $12,533.36, representing the combined total raised by Capitol Federal employees and matched by the Foundation.  “We always have fun as we support Project Topeka” McPherron said, “but it is the understanding of the true need for the campaign that makes it successful each year.”

Hurla said, “It’s wonderful that Capitol Federal employees are so generous, and we’re happy we can have such fun helping others.  We are proud to be able to help replenish the food supplies of such agencies as Let’s Help Inc., Fellowship Inc., Salvation Army, Doorstep, I Care, Topeka North Outreach and Topeka Rescue Mission.  This means so much to these agencies and those they serve, and we at Capitol Federal and Capitol Federal Foundation are glad to be a part of such a great community effort as Project Topeka.”

“Project Topeka extends its appreciation to Capitol Federal, its employees and Capitol Federal Foundation,” remarked Dan Woodard, President of Project Topeka, “for their continuing support of Project Topeka.  It’s organizations and people like these employees who show they care by keeping our food banks filled.  Their gift is equal to approximately 19,000 pounds of food.  We truly thank you for your generosity.”
