Capitol Federal's 120th Year of True Blue® Service
TOPEKA, Kan. – John B. Dicus, Chairman of Capitol Federal® Savings Bank, Topeka, announced the promotions of Steve Huff, pictured left, Beth Nelson and Lloyd Rainge to vice president. Huff recently joined Capitol Federal, accepting the position of IT Security and Risk Manager. He is responsible for coordination of all IT audits, risk assessments and regulatory compliance, as well as asset management and vendor contract negotiations for IT hardware, software and services. In 1991, Huff graduated with an MBA, with an IT emphasis, from the University of Kansas, and in 2002, he earned a Masters Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. In his community, Huff is an assistant scoutmaster and treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 193, and he serves on the USD 345 Technology Committee.
A Certified Public Accountant, Nelson joined the Capitol Federal Financial Reporting department in December 2007. She serves as the assistant reporting director, supervising the work of the Bank’s internal financial analysts, coordinating accounting research and compliance, and carrying out the responsibility for the Bank’s state tax returns. Nelson graduated from Indiana University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Within the community, she serves as a United Way Audit Committee member and is involved in community outreach activities through her church.
In June 1997, Rainge joined Capitol Federal as an intern, learning several functions within the Bank’s divisions. In 2002, he began working full time in the lending division in Johnson County. In 2008, he was named the Community Development Manager, moving to Topeka. While serving customers as a loan originator and assisting with home loan counseling, he promotes the Bank and its lending services to the real estate community. He is a Capitol Federal Chairman Achievement Award recipient, a 2009 graduate of the Capitol Federal Leadership Forum and a 2011 graduate of Leadership Greater Topeka. Rainge earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management, with a minor in Computer Information Systems, from Missouri State University, Springfield, in June 1997. He currently serves on the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce Fast Forward steering committee and the National Advisory Board for the KU Multicultural Scholars Program. He also is a board member of Tenants to Homeowners Inc., Lawrence, and the Youth Project, Inc., Topeka.
