Bill Buscher Retires from Capitol Federal®

TOPEKA, Kan. – John B. Dicus, Chairman of Capitol Federal® Savings, Topeka, announces the retirement of Vice President Bill Buscher, effective March 31, 2014. “After almost 38 years with the Bank, beginning April 19, 1976,” remarks Dicus, “Bill has served Capitol Federal® and its customers with true dedication and commitment to detail.”

While he joined Capitol Federal as a Loan Officer Trainee and was elected to officer status January 17, 1978, Buscher served his entire career with the Bank as a member of the Retail Services team, working in the branch environment for several years prior to accepting his management position in Banking Services.

Throughout the years, Buscher has maintained an active role in the Topeka community. He is an active member of Topeka Civitan Club. Involved with Civitan International, he received the International, District and Club Honor Keys for his service, as well as a Civitan International Shropshire Fellow and his District’s Civitan of the Decade Award. Buscher served as the 2011-2012 Civitan International President, presiding at the international convention in Tallinn, Estonia. Previously, he served as District Governor, International Director, Finance and Audit Committee Chair, a member of the Grants and Scholarships Committee and his club’s Special Olympics Committee Chair. He has also served on the board of Topeka Crime Stoppers, and has volunteered for TARC, Sheltered Living and Meals on Wheels.

A native of Kingman KS, Buscher is a 1973 graduate of Wichita State University, Wichita. He and his wife, Sharon, have three grown children.
