Through a grant provided by Capitol Federal Foundation, Capitol Federal donated $15,000 to the United Way of the Flint Hills in support of Reading tornado relief efforts.

Capitol Federal Chairman John B. Dicus said, "Twenty miles from Emporia, Reading is part of our Capitol Federal family, and we wanted to do something to help our fellow Kansans as they rebuild from the devastating May 21st tornado.  On behalf of Capitol Federal Foundation, the Bank and its employees, we hope this gift will make a difference in the lives of the Reading community.  Please know all of you are in our thoughts and prayers."

United Way of the Flint Hills Executive Director Jami Reever remarked, "We are so grateful to Capitol Federal for this donation.  This gift of $15,000 will go a long way toward the long-term recovery and rebuilding in Reading.  I know the residents of Reading, as well as the disaster relief teams and volunteers, appreciate Capitol Federal stepping up to help during this difficult time."
