Capitol Federal® Promotion Features Local Kansas Artist

October 6, 2011
Capitol Federal's 119th Year of True Blue® Service

As a long time supporter of the Arts and in an effort to advance the Arts and creativity among customers and non-customers alike, Capitol Federal elected to feature a local Kansas artist, Stephen T. Johnson, in its current online promotion, Chasing Rewards.  Between now and November 23, 2011, every other day a new letter from the alphabetic works of Stephen T. Johnson will be hidden somewhere on  Each time a person enters the contest, they may win a $100 gift card from a popular retailer, just in time for the holidays, and a signed copy of Stephen T. Johnson’s book, Alphabet City, or the grand prize of ALL 26 gift cards.  See for official rules and to learn more about Stephen T. Johnson and his award-winning work.

After visiting and viewing the works of Stephen T. Johnson, Capitol Federal invites you to look around town to see if you, too, can find letters in your city’s landscape.  Email your pictures to, and Capitol Federal may post them to share with others.

"This is a great opportunity for us to support the Arts and especially to invite everyone to look around at their world and become creative and adventuresome in the Arts," stated Capitol Federal Marketing Director Becky Moore. "We're very proud to be able to connect our communities with such a notable artist and generate a little fun for everyone while doing so!"
